Mission/Vision & Description of Organization

Mission: To promote, support, and enhance economic growth and diversification in Northwest Alberta through regional cooperation and partnerships.

Vision: Northwest Alberta will be the region of choice for current and future generations. The region will boast a sustainable and diversified economy that creates prosperity and opportunity for all residents. REDI will achieve this vision through vibrant economy that capitalizes on abundant natural resources, promotes strong business relationships, and supports cooperative partnerships.

REDI is a not-for-profit organization made up of the Town of High Level, Mackenzie County, Town of Rainbow Lake, Paddle Prairie Métis Settlement, Local Chambers of Commerce, and Boards of Trade. Industry partners are Community Futures and Northern Lakes College.

REDI works to develop business case/feasibility studies for projects that will assist in developing the regional economy. Past projects have included a Regional Airport Strategy, Regional Infrastructure Needs Study,  a Bio-Industrial Park Project, and the Destination Marketing Organization Feasibility Project.  Projects are run by the REDI Manager and the committee volunteers.

Special Event

The event will provide the basic foundation of running the business aspect of the agriculture industry. This is the first part of a larger REDI initiative to promote skills development within the region.
